Group horseback trail ride in our private forest!
At Pathways on Pleasure Valley, we welcome riders of all experience levels who are able-bodied and can follow verbal instructions and maintain balance while seated on a horse. Please note the following age and weight restrictions:
- Private Guided Trail Rides: Minimum age is 7 years old
- Regular Guided Trail Rides: Minimum age is 10 years old
- Maximum weight: 225 lbs
All of our trail rides are approximately one hour long and take you through our scenic private forest, guided by one of our experienced trail guides. Rides are conducted at a walking pace only, making them suitable for beginners — no prior riding experience is necessary.
Important: For the safety of our horses and guests, riders under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be permitted to ride.

Please note that all prices listed on our website are subject to applicable sales tax (HST). All credit card and personal information is processed through a secure system and is accessible only to our office staff.
To confirm your reservation, we request a valid credit card. In some cases, a pre-authorization may be done to validate the card. Your credit card will only be charged in the event of:
- A late cancellation or rescheduling within 24 hours of your scheduled ride
- No-shows
If you prefer not to provide credit card details, you may secure your reservation by completing full payment via e-transfer or in-person cash payment in advance.
No, for safety reasons, each rider must ride their own horse. Sharing a saddle is strictly not permitted.
No. Riders under the age of 18 must have a waiver signed by their own parent or legal guardian.
If you are bringing someone else’s child, please forward the booking confirmation email to their parent/guardian and remind them to click the waiver link, watch the safety video with their child, and sign the waiver prior to arrival.
Unfortunately, our trails are not open to the public due to safety and liability concerns. We do not permit walk-ins or ship-ins.
Proper attire is important for your safety and comfort. Open-toed shoes are strictly prohibited around horses and riding areas.
Recommended clothing by season:
- Spring & Fall: Layer up with hoodies, jackets, and gloves/mittens
- Summer: Wear jeans, leggings, or trousers; shoes must fully cover your feet
- Winter: Stay warm with snow pants, winter jackets, boots, hoodies, and glove
- Regular Guided Trail Rides: Maximum of 12 riders per group
- Private Guided Trail Rides (with children ages 7–10): Maximum of 6 riders per group
This ensures a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
We kindly ask that you do not bring any dogs to the farm. We have our own ranch dogs, and for safety and liability reasons, we do not allow outside pets on the premises.
Please do not plan to leave your dog in your car during your visit.
All trail rides are by reservation only.
When you book a ride, we reserve horses and a guide specifically for your time slot.
- Arrival Time: Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your scheduled ride for check-in, helmet fitting, and mounting
- Late arrivals may miss their ride and will not be refunded
- Cancellation Policy: We require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling
- Without 24 hours’ notice, or if you do not show up, 100% of the ride fee will be charged to your credit card. This is non-refundable and non-negotiable
- Weather Policy: Rides run rain or shine. However, if severe weather (e.g. thunder, lightning, or unsafe trail conditions) poses a safety concern, we will contact you to reschedule
For reservations, a credit card is required for pre-authorization. Full payment can be made on the day of your ride by cash or credit card.
We do horseback trail rides for people who like to experience horseback riding. Our horses are trained for trail ride, they are really good with beginners. Pathways on Pleasure Valley can accommodate any level of able-bodied rider, but please note that some restrictions on age and weight may apply. Please note that our minimum age is 10 and up and our maximum weight limit is 225 lbs.
Horses & Alcohol Do Not Mix!! Anyone intoxicated or under the influence of alcohol or drug will not be allow to ride.

In most cases, Pathways on Pleasure Valley requests credit card details to confirm your reservation with the trail ride spot, on your behalf. Your credit card may be checked (pre-authorized) to ensure that it is valid. Your credit card details will be used to process the payment for the reservation at the time of booking.
If you want to come to Pathways on Pleasure Valley to leave us the 50% deposit on your booking, then you don’t need to give us your credit card information.
NO, it’s not safe to have more than one person in the saddle at one time.

To control the quality of the trails, we take maximum 8 people out at a time. More riders on a ride is possible if requested prior to setting up the appointment.
NO, we have our own Ranch dogs that might not appreciate the visitors, and it’s also dangerous to bring new dogs to a working farm; so please leave your dogs at home. Do NOT plan on leaving your dog in the car while you visit.
Reservation Policy

- You will be required to arrive 30 minutes prior to your ride for instructions.
All our Trail Ride activities have a 24 hour cancellation policy.
- Without 24 hours notice if you do not arrive for your scheduled time, your credit card will be charged 100% of the ride value. 100% non-refundable.Please note that this policy is non-negotiable. There are no exceptions.
- All rides operate rain or shine. In the event of bad weather here we allow you to reschedule your ride. Cancellations will be charged 100% of your ride value.
- For reserving the credit card is required for pre-authorization and full payment can be made the day of your ride in cash or credit.
